Dr. Joseph Pflanzer specializes in the diagnosis and management of Asthma, allergy and clinical immunology including conditions such as allergic rhinitis (hay fever), sinusitis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), food allergy, drug allergy, anaphylaxis (systemic allergic reactions), contact dermatitis, urticaria (hives), angioedema (swelling), candidas, conjunctivitis, and many others.

We help patients determine the causes and treatment fr symptoms such as nasal congestion, sinus symptoms, ear and eye symptoms, shortness of breath, wheezing, headache, chronic cough, recurrent respiratory and other infections, skin rashes, hives and others.

We perform several types of allergy testing, pulmonary function testing, Chemical Patch testing, allergy immunotherapy (allergy injections) and anti – IgE (Xolair) injections if these are indicated.

About Dr. Joseph Pflanzer 

Dr. Joseph Pflanzer is a Board Certified Allergist.  Originally from New York City, he earned his medical degree from the Catholic University of Louvain Medical School in Belgium.  Postgraduate education included an internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Montreal Children’s Hospital in Montreal, Canada.  His Pediatric residency was performed at the Brookdale Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York and his Allergy Residency was performed at the renowned Roosevelt Hospital Allergy Institute in New York City. 

Dr. Joseph Pflanzer opened his practice in 1971 and has practiced locally for over 30 years and is an active member of Children’s Hospital, Methodist Hospital and Charlton Methodist Hospital.  In Association with the Methodist Hospital system, Dr. Pflanzer also provides in practice allergy training to many doctors in the residency program.
